This species was collected growing as an epiphyte on Cystoseira barbata from the Candarli Bay (Aegean Sea, Turkey) in the midlittoral zone (0.5-1.0 m). Its recurved paraphyses, consisting of 9-18 cells, and the sole production of unilocular sporangia were observed.
