Primary pleural synovial sarcoma (PPSS) is a very rare and aggressive subtype of SS. A 73-year-old male patient presented with chest-back pain and dyspnea. Hypermetabolic diffuse pleural lesions were detected in 18F-FDG PET/CT performed after pleural nodular thickenings were observed on CT. As the result of the molecular analysis performed in the excisional biopsy, SYT-SSX mutation was detected and the patient was diagnosed as SS. Pazopanib treatment was commenced. We are reporting a very rare case of PPSS with diffuse pleural involvement. © 2023 Elsevier Masson SASEnglishfluorodeoxyglucose f 18oncogene fusion proteinpazopanibsyt ssx fusion proteintumor markerunclassified drugagedArticlebackachecancer chemotherapycancer morphologycase reportclinical articlecomputer assisted tomographydyspneaemergency wardexcisional biopsyexudative pleural effusionfine needle aspiration biopsyfluorescence in situ hybridizationfollow upgene mutationhistopathologyhumanhuman tissuehypermetabolismmalemaximum standardized uptake valuemediastinum lymph nodemolecular diagnosismolecular geneticsmutational analysispleura effusionpleura mesotheliomapleura thickeningpleural sarcomapositron emission tomography-computed tomographyprimary pleural synovial sarcomaprimary tumorrespiratory distresssynovial sarcomathorax drainagethorax painthorax radiographytransthoracic aspirationtransthoracic biopsytreatment responsetumor biopsyvideo assisted thoracoscopic surgeryPrimary pleural synovial sarcoma with diffuse pleural involvement: A case report; [Sarcome synovial pleural primitif avec atteinte pleurale diffuse : un rapport de cas]Article10.1016/j.mednuc.2023.02.002
