Item Faunistic Studies on the Genus Medon Stephens, 1833 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) in TurkeyÖrgel, S; Çiçek, K; Anlas, SIn this study, 702 specimens belonging to the genus Medon Sephens were examined. The material was obtained from various field trips between 2010-2019 by using aspirator, sifter, pitfall trap, berlese funnel and MSS trap methods. As a result of the study, 15 of the 22 known species from Turkey were identified. Medon brunneus (Erichson, 1839), M. ferrugineus (Erichson, 1840), M. lanugo Assing, 2004 and M. subfusculus Fagel, 1969 from the Aegean Region, M. semiobscurus (Fauvel, 1875), M. abantensis Bordoni, 1980 and M. lamellatus Assing, 2004 from the Central Anatolian Region are reported for the first time. Besides, M. rufiventris (Nordmann, 1837) is recorded for the first time from both the Aegean and Central Anatolian Regions. In addition, many new locality records of the recorded species were presented. The distributions of all Medon species in Turkey were mapped.Item Description of three new species of Geostiba Thomson, 1858 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Aleocharinae) from central western AnatoliaÖrgel, S; Anlas, SAs result of faunistic studies from Afyonkarahisar province in central western Anatolia, three new species of the subgenus Tropogastrosipalia Scheerpeltz belonging to the genus Geostiba Thomson are described and illustrated: Geostiba ahirensis sp. nov. (Ahir Daglari), G. sandiklica sp. nov. (Sanchkh Dagi), and G. karakusensis sp. nov. (Karakus Daglari). A key is presented for distinguishing the new species from related congeners and a map shows the distributions of seven species.Item New Species and Additional Records of the Genus Leptobium Casey (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) from Central AnatoliaAnlas, S; Örgel, SIn this paper, Leptobium angoranum from Ankara (Beypazari) province in central northern Anatolia is described. Its diagnostic characters are illustrated and distinguished from related congeners. Additional records of three species of Leptobium from Turkey are reported. The genus is now represented in Turkey by 18 species, 13 of them are endemic.Item Descriptions of Geostiba dindymosensis sp. n. and Geostiba yagmuri sp. n. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae), and additional records for Geostiba Thomson, 1858 from TurkeyÖrgel, SAs a result of field survey in the western Anatolia, Turkey (Aydin, Balikesir, Denizli, Izmir, Kutahya, Manisa, Mugla) between 2014 and 2016, two new species of the subgenus Tropogastrosipalia Scheerpeltz, 1951 belonging to the genus Geostiba Thomson, 1858 are described and illustrated: Geostiba dindymosensis sp. n. from Kutahya and Geostiba yagmuri sp. n. from Balikesir and Manisa. These two new species are compared with morphologically similar and geographically close species. Also, a map illustrating the distributions of these species is provided. Additional records of Geostiba aydinica Assing, 2006, Geostiba biformis Assing, 2006 and Geostiba nifica Assing, 2006 are presented. These three species are recorded for the first time since their descriptions.Item Additional Notes on the Genus Bledius Leach, 1819 (Staphylinidae: Oxytelinae) Fauna of TurkeyKacar, EZ; Örgel, S; Anlas, SIn this study, total of 70 specimens of the genus Bledius Leach, 1819 (Staphylinidae: Oxytelinae) were collected from different regions of Turkey between 2006 and 2020. As a result of the study. 10 species were determined from the study areas in Turkey. Among them, Bledius (Astycops) opacus (Block 1799), B. (Bargus) secessus Bondroit, 1912 and B. (Elbius) diota (Schiodte, 1866) are recorded for the first time from Turkey. In addition, B. (Astycops) subterraneus Erichson, 1839 from Aegean Region. B. (Hesperophilus) cribricollis Heer, 1839 from Eastern Black Sea Region, B. (Pucerus) verres Erichson, 1840 from Aegean Region and Southeastern Anatolia Region, B. (s.str) spectabilis Kraatz, 1858 from Central Anatolian Region and B. (s.str) unicornis (Germar, 1825) from Aegean Region are recorded for the first time.Item A new species of Sunius Curtis, 1829 from Turkey (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Paederinae)Anlas, S; Örgel, SSunius honazensis sp. n. from Honaz Mountain in Denizli province, Turkey, is described, illustrated and distinguished from related congeners.Item Additional Notes on the Genus Carpelimus Leach, 1819 (Staphylinidae: Oxytelinae) Fauna of TurkeyKacar, EZ; Örgel, S; Anlas, SIn this study, 117 specimens of the genus Carpelimus Leach (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Oxytelinae) were collected from different provinces and regions of Turkey between 2005 and 2019. As a result of the field studies, a totally 12 species of the genus were recorded. Among them, Carpelimus (Trogophloeus) fiorii Gildenkov is the first record from Turkey. In addition, C. (s. str.) fuliginosus (Gravenhorst) from Aegean and Southeast Anatolia Regions, C. (s. str.) gusarovi Gildenkov from Aegean and Mediterranean Regions, C. (s. str) pusillus (Gravenhorst) from Eastern Anatolia Region, C. (Paratrogophloeus) rivularis (Motschulsky) from Aegean Region, C. (Troginus) exiguus (Erichson) from Eastern Anatolia Region and C. (Troginus) impressus (Lacordaire) from Marmara Region are the first recorded for the area.Item A new species and additional records of genus Drusilla Leach, 1819 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae) from TurkeyÖrgel, SA study was conducted on the fauna of the genus Drusilla Leach, 1819 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae) in Anatolia. The aim of this study was to contribute to biodiversity research by describing a new species, also, to provide a better understanding of the distributions of known species. The field trips were made in different provinces of Turkey between 2010-2019. Specimens were collected by hand and pitfall traps. Drusilla anlasi sp. n. from East Mentese Mountains in Muya Province, western Anatolia, is originally described. Additional records are given for six of the nine known species from Anatolia. The distributions of the known species are discussed and distribution maps are given. The diagnostic characters of the new species and sexual characters of the Drusilla lydica Assing, 2007, Drusilla recta Assing, 2005 and Drusilla canaliculata (Fabricius, 1787) are illustrated. A key to the Drusilla species of Anatolia is presented.Item Two new species and additional records of the genus Geostiba Thomson, 1858 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae) from TurkeyÖrgel, SIn this study, two new species are described from Anatolia, Turkey and illustrated: Geostiba (Tropogastrosipalia) yamani sp. n. (Tokat province) and G. (T.) sinananlasi sp. n. (Sivas province). These two new species are compared to closely related species, G. priva Assing and G. solodovnikovi Assing. The distribution of these species is mapped, and an identification key of these species is provided. Additional records for six species are presented.Item Leptobium thracicum sp. n. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) from Thrace Region of Turkey and additional records for the genus1Anlas, S; Örgel, SThe genus Leptobium Casey, 1905 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) is represented in the Palearctic Region by 73 species and two subspecies. As a result of field survey in the north and southern Turkey between 2008 and 2021, a new species of the genus Leptobium is described and illustrated from Tekirdag Province (Ganos Mountains, northwestern Turkey), and distinguished from related congeners: Leptobium thracicum sp. n. Additional records of five species of Leptobium from Turkey are presented. The genus is now represented in Turkey by 20 species with 15 of them endemic.Item Contribution to the Pselaphinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) of Anatolia, TurkeyBekchiev, R; Brachat, V; Anlas, S; Özgen, I; Yagmur, EA; Örgel, S; Gjonov, I; Kostova, RAs result of a short expedition during early spring in Western Turkey (Izmir, Aydin, Manisa and Denizli provinces), two new species, Bythinus beshkovi sp. n. and Bryaxis pumilus sp. n., have been discovered and are described here; the aedeagus and first two basal antennomeres of Bryaxis anatolicus Saulcy, 1878 are illustrated; faunistical data for 16 species are given, and photos of the habitus of the genera Namunia and Tremissus are provided for the first time.
