    New and additional records of paederinae (coleoptera: Staphylinidae) from the Island of Cyprus

    Additional notes on 12 species belonging to the subfamily Paederinae (Staphylinidae) from the Island of Cyprus have been given. Amongst those six species are the first records for Cyprus fauna: Astenus thaboris (Saulcy, 1865), Nazeris ammonita (Saulcy, 1865), Scymbalium anale (Nordmann, 1837), Medon abantensis Bordoni, 1980, Pseudomedon obscurellus (Erichson, 1840) and Paederidus rubrothoracicus (Goeze, 1777), so that a total of 302 staphylinid species are now known from Cyprus.

    Current status of dermaptera (Insecta) fauna of Turkey and Cyprus

    Dermaptera fauna of Turkey and Cyprus were evaluated on the basis of recently collected specimens, revisions of museum and private collections and data from the literature. New data are reported on the occurrence of 18 species from Turkey and three species from Cyprus. The total number of species known from Turkey is 19 and from Cyprus is six. Isolaboides kosswigi (Burr, 1947) is the only endemic species in the Turkish dermapteran fauna. The first precise records of Isolabella graeca Verhoeff, 1901 and Forficula lucasi Dohrn, 1865 from Turkey are presented and the occurrence of Anechura zubovskii (Semenov, 1901) is confirmed by recent records. Forficula auricularia Linnaeus, 1758 is recorded from Cyprus for the first time. A key to the Dermaptera species of Turkey and Cyprus is also provided.

    Faunistical, ecological and zoogeographical evaluations on the subfamily Paederinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey

    The scope of this study is to make evaluations on faunistic, ecological and zoogeographical situation of the subfamily Paederinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey. As a result of the study, 31 species belonging to 7 subtribes and 12 genera have been determined by field trips between years 2009-2011 in the Central Anatolian Region. Among them, one species, Rugilus longicollis (Fauvel, 1900), is reported as new record for Turkish fauna. Also three species, Scopaeus minutoides Coiffait 1969, Rugilus tauricus (Rougemont, 1988) and Tetartopeus adanensis Assing, 2004, were endemic for Turkey. Ten species Lathrobium wrasei Schülke, 1990, Astenus immaculatus Stephens, 1833, Paederus mesopotamicus Eppelsheim, 1889, Paederus riparius (Linnaeus, 1758), Rugilus angustatus (Geoffray, 1785), Rugilus orbiculatus (Paykull, 1789), Rugilus rufipes Germar, 1836, Scopaeus bicolor Baudi Di Selve, 1848, Scopaeus minutoides Coiffait, 1969 and Tetartopeus adanensis Assing, 2004 are reported as the first records for Central Anatolian Region.

    A new species and additional records of the genus Lathrobium Gravenhorst, 1802 from Palaearctic region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

    Lathrobium matalini sp. n. from southern Kazakhstan is described, illustrated and distinguished from related congeners. Additional records of 18 Lathrobium species, among them four new country records, are reported from Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey.

    Notes on the genus Astenus Dejean, 1833 from the Palearctic Region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

    The genus Astenus Dejean, 1833 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) contains more than 200 species in the Palearctic Region. In this paper, new and additional distributional data concerning 20 species of the genus Astenus in the Palearctic Region are presented. The studied material has been collected between 1928-2016 and also contained the types and additional specimens from some European museums. Among them nine species are first country records: Armenia (1), Azerbaijan (1), Bulgaria (2), Bosnia Herzegovina (1), France (1), Iraq (2), Israel (1), Syria (2), Kazakhstan (2), Turkey (1) and Turkmenistan (4). Besides, the original specimens of Astenus rufopacus Reitter, 1909 have been studied, the lectotype designated, the species redescribed and illustrated. © 2018 Entomological Society of Turkey.
