Item Digital Transformation of Grocery In-Store Shopping-Scanners, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Beyond: A ReviewWolniak, R; Stecula, K; Aydin, BThis paper reviews the digital transformation of grocery shopping, focusing on the technological innovations that have redefined consumer experiences over the past decades. By analyzing both academic literature and up-to-date information from websites, the study provides a review of the evolution of grocery shopping from traditional methods to modern, technology-driven approaches. The review categorizes developments into two primary areas: in-store and online grocery shopping. In-store shopping has progressed from traditional interactions to the implementation of self-service checkouts, handheld scanners, mobile apps, and AI-based solutions, including augmented reality (AR) and facial recognition. This paper reviews the first area which are in-store technological solutions. This study aims to highlight the revolution in grocery shopping from a technological perspective, present the most significant digital achievements, and outline the future possibilities for further advancements in this field.Item Cardiovascular risk factors and noninvasive assessment of arterial structure and function in obese Turkish childrenYilmazer, MM; Tavli, V; Carti, OU; Mese, T; Güven, B; Aydin, B; Devrim, I; Tavli, TObesity is associated with a number of risk factors, such as hyperlipidemia, hyperinsulinemia, hypertension, and early atherosclerosis. Evidence indicates that atherosclerosis begins in childhood and progresses over decades. In this work, we examined the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and ultrasonographic signs of subclinical atherosclerosis in 77 obese children and adolescents compared to 40 non-obese healthy peers. Carotis intima media thickness (cIMT), carotid artery compliance (CAC), brachial artery flow-mediated dilatation (FMD), and established cardiovascular risk factors were studied. In the obese patients, cIMT was significantly increased (0.57 mm vs 0.45 mm, p < 0.001) whereas CAC (1.84% vs 3.29%, p < 0.001) and FMD (9.67 % vs 14.81%, p < 0.001) were significantly decreased. In multiple linear regression analysis, a relation was observed between cIMT, CAC, brachial FMD on one hand, and body mass index (BMI) on the other. Among the lipid anomalies, only hypertriglyceridemia was found to be positively correlated with cIMT. Additionally, we found a significant association between waist circumference (WC) and FMD. These findings indicate that obesity in children is associated with arterial wall alterations and endothelial dysfunction. In hyperlipidemic situations, only hypertriglyceridemia was found to be positively correlated with cIMT. This finding has consistently indicated TG to be a risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis. To our knowledge this is the first study to determine the relation between FMD and WC, which is used as a parameter of obesity in childhood.Item Highly Soluble Polyoxyethylene-Perylene diimide: Optical, Electrochemical and Photovoltaic StudiesBirel, OH; Zafer, C; Dincalp, H; Aydin, B; Can, MThe synthesis and optical properties of a new dye molecule [PERKAT] were reported. The molecular structure of PERKAT was characterized by FT-IR and H-1 NMR. Optical properties of PERKAT were investigated by UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy. The effect of the solvent polarity on the spectral characteristics has been investigated in five common organic solvents of different polarity. PERKAT is highly soluble in common organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane due to the polyoxyethylene chains. The fluorescence quantum yields of PERKAT in all solvents is very low (10(-2) -10(-3)). Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) analysis was performed to determine the HOMO and LUMO energy levels of the PERKAT. Assuming good stability of solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) under physiological conditions, radiolabeled SLNs can be used for imaging and measuring uptake in target tissue. Present study was performed to evaluate biological behavior of temozolomide (TMZ) loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN-TMZ) in vivo and in vitro. Lipid nanoparticles were prepared by emulsification and low-temperature solidification method. zeta potential, morphology and particle size of nanoparticles were determined. Biological behavior of( 99m)Tc(CO)(3)(+) radiolabeled SLN-TMZ were investigated in vitro on U87/Daoy cell lines and in vivo on female Wistar Albino rats. Obtained results of in vitro incorporation, in vivo biodistribution and gamma imaging studies on radiolabeled SLN-TMZ show that the radiolabeled solid lipid nanoparticles could have potential as a drug delivery system for TMZ.Item Technology Development in Online Grocery Shopping-From Shopping Services to Virtual Reality, Metaverse, and Smart Devices: A ReviewStecula, K; Wolniak, R; Aydin, BThis paper presents a review of the technologies and services associated with online grocery shopping. The progress in the field of online grocery shopping has been very rapid in recent years. Hence, there was a need to systematize knowledge about the latest various solutions used in this topic. The authors searched the internet, focusing on websites of different supermarkets, shops, and other services that offer online shopping, as well as reviewed scientific papers. Based on the collected material, the authors created four thematic parts, which include: (1) supermarket services; (2) dedicated grocery delivery services and farm-to-table; (3) shopping in Virtual Reality and the metaverse; smart devices and (4) AI in food ordering-the last part includes smart devices, such as smart refrigerators, ovens, their functionality, and the services connected with them. The authors refer to 243 sources. The research includes the three following objectives: (1) exploring and presenting the emerging applied ways of online grocery shopping, (2) exploring and presenting the latest technological advances related to the digitalization of grocery shopping, (3) discussing the upcoming technologies, services, and methods in online grocery shopping. This paper provides knowledge about a wide range of solutions offered by both supermarkets and stores (e.g., shopping applications, VR applications, metaverse shopping) and other companies (e.g., deliveries, product tracking), highlighting the numerous functions available thanks to smart devices (e.g., voice control, own shopping lists, control of products, their quantities and expiration dates, management of user preferences, and many more). This paper also discusses social issues related to the presented solutions, such as their influence on consumer behavior, barriers to adoption, and the associated challenges.Item Process Approach in a Mining Company: LW Bogdanka SA Case StudyDyczko, A; Stecula, K; Stanczak, L; Aydin, B; Kaminski, PThis article concerns the management of the Polish mining company Lubelski W & eogon;giel (LW) Bogdanka S.A. The main aim of this paper was to describe the whole process of implementing a process approach to management in one of the most important mining companies in Poland. The objective of the research presented was the incorporation of the process approach in LW Bogdanka S.A. to enhance its management and to improve the effectiveness of its mining process. This paper uses a case study method and presents a practical incorporation of the process approach and its results. The first phase of the proposed solution included building a map of business processes. Then, the research consisted of an analysis of existing processes; the introduction of new solutions, mainly in the field of infrastructure and IT systems; and changing the awareness of key process owners. The motivation for applying this approach was to achieve greater efficiency and continuous improvement in LW Bogdanka S.A. International guidelines provide a range of recommendations regarding the preterm population eligible for caffeine prophylaxis, including the timing, dosage, and duration of treatment. Our national guidelines, published prior to the most recent updates of the international guidelines, recommend the use of caffeine citrate starting from the first day after delivery for preterm infants with a gestational age of <28 weeks. For infants up to 32 weeks, if positive pressure ventilation is required, the decision should be made on an individual basis. This study aims to describe the variability in caffeine usage across neonatal intensive care units in our country. Methods: An online survey was sent to neonatologist who are members of the Turkish Neonatology Society to describe the variability in caffeine usage in neonatal intensive care units in our country. Results: We collected responses from 74 units. Prophylactic caffeine usage was observed as; GA <= 27(6/7): 98.6%, GA 28(0/7)-28(6/7): 89.0%, GA 29(0/7)-29(6/7): 75.3%, GA 30(0/7)-31(6/7): 53.4%. 62.2% of units reported administering loading dose within the first two hours. The initial maintenance dose was 5 mg/kg in 64.8% of units, 10 mg/kg in 32.4% of units, and intermediate dose in 5.3% of units. 47.3% of units reported no routine dose adjustment. The postmenstrual age that caffeine treatment was stopped was found to be 34 (min-max; 32-36) weeks for infants without apnea and respiratory support, 36 (min-max; 34-52) weeks for infants without apnea but any respiratory support. The time to discharge after treatment cessation was found as; 1-4 days: 37.8%, 5-7 days: 68.9%. Among the 56 units with multiple responsible physicians, 32.1% reported intra-unit variations. Conclusion: The significant differences in caffeine usage characteristics between and within units highlight the need for clear recommendations provided by standardized guidelines.Item Design of 99mTc radiolabeled gemcitabine polymeric nanoparticles as drug delivery system and in vivo evaluationIçhedef, Ç; Teksöz, S; Çetin, O; Aydin, B; Sarikavak, I; Parlak, Y; Bilgin, BEThe main objective of this study is to create a multifunctional drug carrier system as a prototype product. For this purpose, Gemcitabine that used as an anticancer agent for several kinds of tumour therapy, and technetium(I)-tricarbonyl core, [Tc-99m(CO)(3)](+), was incorporated to the polymeric structure. In the current study PLA-PEG-COOH (polylactic acid-polyethylene glycol-carboxyl) copolymer was synthesized and the structure analysis was performed by FT-IR and H-1 NMR. The surface charge, size and morphology of the polymeric nanoparticles was evaluated by Zeta Potential (ZP) analysis, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) methods. Gemcitabine loaded polymeric nanoparticles were radiolabeled with [Tc-99m(CO)(3)(H2O)(3)](+) and quality controls were performed by thin layer radiochromatograpy (TLRC) and high performance liquid radiochmmatograpy (HPLRC). PLA-PEG-GEM complex was labeled with [Tc-99m(CO)(3)](+) in high radiochemical yield and purity. The radiolabeled complex is stable during the study period in saline solution. The biological activity of this radiolabeled system was evaluated performing biodistribution and gamma camera imaging on Wistar Albino rats which exhibited higher uptake in the lung and liver at all selected time points.
