Disteli Diagram of Dual Hyperbolic Spherical Motion in Dual Lorentzian Space
    Ekinci, Z; Ugurlu, HH
In this paper Disteli diagram is introduced for hyperbolic spatial motion by considering the E. Study mapping of timelike lines. Disteli's diagram of pure rotations is obtained on a circle of Lorentzian space and also given for the general case. The distribution parameters of the axodes are obtained in Disteli's diagram.

On the kinematic interpretation of timelike ruled surfaces
    Önder, M; Ekinci, Z
Timelike ruled surfaces are studied in dual Lorentzian space D-1(3) by considering E. Study Mapping and Blaschke frame. A reference timelike ruled surface is considered and associated surfaces are defined. First, it is shown that the surface generated by the instantaneous screw axis (ISA) is a Mannheim offset of reference surface. Later, the kinematic interpretations between these surfaces are introduced by means of Blaschke invariants.

On closed timelike and spacelike ruled surfaces
    Önder, M; Ekinci, Z
In this study, by using the concepts and results on spherical curves in dual Lorentzian space, we give the criterions for ruled surfaces with non-lightlike ruling to be closed (periodic). Moreover, we obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions to guarantee that a timelike or a spacelike ruled surface is closed (periodic). Copyright (C) 2016 JohnWiley & Sons, Ltd.

    Ekinci, Z; Candan, C; Alpay, H; Canpolat, N; Akyüz, SG; Gündüz, Z; Dursun, I; Bek, K; Dursun, H; Isiyel, E; Öktem, F; Tabel, Y; Akil, I; Delibas, A; Gülleroglu, K; Akinci, N; Dinçel, N; Özkaya, O; Söylemezoglu, O
The aim of this retrospective multicenter study was to define the epidemiological and clinical features and prognostic factors of the first diarrhea-related hemolytic uremic syndrome (D+HUS) outbreak in Turkey in 2011. All pediatric nephrology centers in Turkey were asked about D+HUS patients via e-mail. Seventy D+HUS patients (median age: 5.7 years) participated. The seasonal peak was around the 7th, 8th and 9th months with 44 cases, centered in the east Marmara region. No causative agent could be identified. The rate of neurological complications and mortality was 21.4% and 4.2%, respectively. Eculizumab was used in four cases. Two of them had severe neurological complications despite plasma exchange. Elevated polymorphonuclear leukocyte count during hospital admission was the predictor of both severe disease and poor outcome. Duration of prodrome was the predictor of poor outcome (p<0.05). In conclusion, the median age of the affected children was greater than in the previous reports, while clinical features and outcome were similar.
