Item Effects of cutting parameters and tool-path strategies on tool acceleration in ball-end milling(Institute of Metals Technology, 2017) Gök A.; Gök K.; Bilgin M.B.; Alkan M.A.The determination of the cutting-parameter values that cause increases in vibration values is important to minimize the errors that can occur. Thus, the first aim of this study was to investigate the optimum cutting-parameter values and tool-path strategies in ball-end milling of the EN X40CrMoV5-1 tool steel with three coated cutters using the Taguchi method. The parameters taken into consideration are the cutting speed, feed rate, step over and tool-path strategies. The second aim of the study, a model for the tool acceleration as a function of the cutting parameters, was obtained using the response-surface methodology (RSM). As a result, the most effective parameter within the selected cutting parameters and cutting strategies for both inclined surfaces and different coatings was the step over. In terms of tool coatings, the most deteriorating coating for the tool acceleration on both inclined surfaces was the TiC coating. In addition, the response-surface methodology is employed to predict the tool-vibration values depending on the cutting parameters and tool-path strategy. This study aimed to identify ID-related shared pathways and processes utilizing enrichment analyses. Methods In this multicenter study, causative genes of patients with ID were used as input for Disease Ontology (DO), Gene Ontology (GO), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis. Results Genetic test results of 720 patients from 27 centers were obtained. Patients with chromosomal deletion/duplication, non-ID genes, novel genes, and results with changes in more than one gene were excluded. A total of 558 patients with 341 different causative genes were included in the study. Pathway-based enrichment analysis of the ID-related genes via ClusterProfiler revealed 18 shared pathways, with lysine degradation and nicotine addiction being the most common. The most common of the 25 overrepresented DO terms was ID. The most frequently overrepresented GO biological process, cellular component, and molecular function terms were regulation of membrane potential, ion channel complex, and voltage-gated ion channel activity/voltage-gated channel activity, respectively. Conclusion Lysine degradation, nicotine addiction, and thyroid hormone signaling pathways are well-suited to be research areas for the discovery of new targeted therapies in ID patients. © 2022 Hippokrates Verlag GmbH. In Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, performing a process by following a certain order reduces cost and time of the process. In the literature, there are research works involving varying methods that aim to minimize the length of the CNC machine tool path. In this study, the trajectory that the CNC machine tool follows while drilling holes on a plate was discussed within the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). Genetic Algorithms (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) methods were used to solve TSP. The case that the shortest tool path was obtained was determined by changing population size parameter in GA, PSO, and GWO methods. The results were presented in tables. © 2022 World Scientific Publishing Company.Item INVESTIGATION USING FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF EFFECT TO EARRING OF ANISOTROPY PARAMETERS IN DEEP DRAWING PROCESS(ModTech Publishing House, 2023) Gök K.; Taş H.; Gök A.; Alkan M.A.The investigation mentioned focuses on utilizing finite element analysis to study the impact of anisotropy parameters on the behavior of earrings during the deep drawing process. deep drawing is a manufacturing technique used to transform flat sheet metal into three-dimensional shapes, and anisotropy refers to the directional dependence of material properties. by analyzing and understanding how anisotropy parameters affect the behavior of earrings during the deep drawing process, this investigation aims to provide valuable insights for optimizing the manufacturing process and enhancing the quality and durability of earrings. In this study, an Al6061-T6 sheet material with different planar anisotropies with a single thickness of 2 mm was employed to simulate the effects of anisotropy parameters on the earring by using finite element method. The effects of anisotropy parameters on the earring were examined by using FEM. Variations force obtained in Δr2 are higher than Δr1 . This is due to the anisotropy of the material. It can be said that the FEM simulations give reasonable results in view of earring for deep drawing processes. So, experimental costs can therefore be avoided using a suitable FEM model. © International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies.Item THE ROLE OF FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT ON THE SHARE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN JAPAN: A COMPREHENSIVE TIME-SERIES ANALYSIS(World Scientific, 2024) Gök A.; Demir C.The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of financial development (FD) on the share of renewable energy (RE) usage in Japan. The existing theoretical literature and empirical analyses covering different country cases reveal that FD might have positive, negative, or insignificant effect on RE use. Since there is no empirical investigation of the issue for Japan, the study aims to contribute to the literature. To that end, we used several time-series techniques to detect the association between RE usage and FD in Japan over the 1970-2020 period. The results obtained from the ARDL, Hatemi-J, Maki, Tsong et al. and NARDL cointegration tests showed that there is a significant cointegrated relationship between the share of RE use, FD, GDP per capita and trade openness. As for the long-run coefficients obtained from the ARDL, FMOLS, CCR and NARDL estimators revealed that increases in FD and trade openness raise the share of RE usage while increases in GDP per capita reduce it. Briefly, for the Japan case, we may suggest that improving the financial market structure of the country will bear fruit in terms of the share of cleaner and sustainable energy usage. © 2024 World Scientific Publishing Company.
