Initial point is the train station and the final point is the arrival point. Students' transportation is provided with buses. The main problem is to decide the number of buses by taking number of student into consideration. To be able to solve this real-life application PROMODEL pack software is used.Item Experimental Study on Pipe Sections against Impact Loading(ASSOC INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION & SCIENCE) Gücüyen, E; Erdem, RT; Kantar, EPipelines are significant structural systems that transfer necessary materials from one place to another. They are under the effect of static and dynamic loads during their service lives. Investigations have become important to determine the effects of sudden dynamic loads with technological developments. Researchers study the mechanical properties of different materials and structural members under dynamic effects such as earthquake, wind, blast, rock falling and vehicle crushing. For this purpose, different test setups have been developed to investigate the behaviour of test members. In this study, galvanized and water filled galvanized pipe sections having three different diameter values are produced in a laboratory to perform tests under impact loading. The behaviour of the pipes is determined by free falling test apparatus. In addition, measurement devices as accelerometer, dynamic force sensor, lvdt, and data logger are used in the experimental program. So, acceleration, impact force, and displacement values are obtained during the tests. Besides, damage developments of the pipes are also observed to determine the impact resistances of test members. The results are compared to each other and it is stated that while acceleration and impact force values decrease, displacement values increase as the test members approach to collapse damage situation.Item Behaviour of Large Cylindrical Offshore Structures Subjected to Wave Loads(ASSOC INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION & SCIENCE) Dagli, BY; Yigit, ME; Gökkus, ÜSpar-type and monopole substructures consisting of a large-diameter, single vertical cylinders have been used as wind turbine towers, oil storage platforms, tankers and wave energy converters at deepwater region in the sea. These towers and platforms are exposed to environmental forces such as wind, wave and current. Wave force is the most effective force in the total environmental force. The body disturbs the incident wave and Diffraction Theory is used for computing the pressure distribution for designing the structure. Therefore, this study aims to present the effect of structural design of towers on dynamic behavior due to wave actions. Two different cases of structural models are selected to employ bidirectional fluid structure interaction (FSI) analysis. Diffraction Theory is utilized to investigate wave forces. Solid and fluid domains are modeled in Abaqus finite elements program. Behaviors of various types of offshore structures are evaluated and compared according to the significant stresses and displacements. The hydrodynamic pressure on the cylindrical structure surface and the diffraction forces acting on structures are presented. Mode shapes, first three natural frequencies are comparatively given.Item Wind Load Design of Hangar-Type Closed Steel Structures with Different Roof Pitches Using Abaqus CAE Software(ASSOC INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION & SCIENCE) Çiftçioglu, AO; Yildizel, SA; Yildirim, MS; Dogan, EStructures convert the kinetic energy available in the air into potential energy which is in the form of pressure and suction forces reducing or fully stopping its motion. The potential impact of the wind depends on the geometric properties and pertinacity of a building, the angle of the wind flow, its strength and velocity. Design gains importance for tall buildings against the impact of the resonance along with the force based on pressure. Relevant calculations are made in Turkey based on the TS 498 Wind Load Velocity Criterion and this standard is currently being updated. This study develops the wind load design of hangar-type closed steel structures with different roof pitches using Abaqus CAE software.
