Item The perception of teacher candidates regarding their professional qualification and their attitude towards postgraduate education and the relation between these variables(TUBA-TURKISH ACAD SCIENCES) Ören, FS; Karapinar, AThis study aims to determine the professional qualification perception of teacher candidates, their attitude towards postgraduate education and the relation between these two. The study performed for this purpose is a survey study conducted by the participation of 494 third and fourth grade teacher candidates receiving education in the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2010-2011 at the Celal Bayar University, Faculty for Education. In the determination of the teacher candidates' perceptions of their professional qualification, a personal information form including 2 graded questions of perception is used. In determination of the attitude of the teacher candidates towards postgraduate education, which is the second variable of study, the Attitude towards Postgraduate Education Scale is used. The Kruskall-Wallis and the Mann-Whitney U tests are used along with the descriptive statistics for the analysis of the data. It is determined according to the analysis results that teacher candidates' attitude towards postgraduate education is at 'medium' level with respect to the 'desire' aspect and at 'good' level with respect to the 'function' aspect. Looking at results with regards to the professional qualification perception of the teacher candidates, the level they are included most is with 51.6% the 'medium level sufficient' level. Also similar results are obtained with regards to their qualification perception in terms of implementing the profession in the classrooms, and it is determined that the large majority of the teacher candidates were at 'sufficient' and 'medium level sufficient' levels (total 89.7%). And regarding the relation between both attitude and perception variables, it is determined that the attitudes of the teacher candidates towards postgraduate education have shown a meaningful difference according to their subject field professional qualification perceptions. Besides it is seen that there is similarly a meaningful difference when looked separately in the desire and function aspects. As a result; it is determined that the higher the qualification perception of the teacher candidate in terms of his/her ability to implement his/her profession in the class, the higher gets his/her attitude towards postgraduate education. There are some suggestions made related to these results.Item Clomiphene citrate does not affect the secretion of α3, αV and β1 integrin molecules during the implantation window in patients with unexplained infertility(OXFORD UNIV PRESS) Lacin, S; Vatansever, S; Kuscu, NK; Koyuncu, F; Ozbilgin, K; Ceylan, EBACKGROUND: The expression of integrin molecules on the endometrium suggests that certain integrins may participate in the cascade of molecular events leading to successful implantation. A prospective, controlled study was carried out to investigate the effect of clomiphene citrate (CC) on secretions of beta (1), alpha (3) and alpha (V) integrin molecules in the endometrium of patients with unexplained infertility during the implantation window. METHODS: A total of 40 endometrial samples was evaluated in both spontaneous (n = 13) and ensuing clomiphene-treated cycles (100 mg on days 5-9) and also from fertile women serving as controls (n = 14) during postovulatory 7th or 8th day of menstrual cycle. A semiquantitative grading system (H-score) was used to compare the inmumohistochemical staining intensities. Endometrial thickness and serum oestradiol and progesterone concentrations were also measured on the day of sampling. RESULTS: Staining of alpha (v) but not beta (1) and alpha (3) integrins was significantly less intense in infertile cases than fertile control cases (1.42 +/- 0.12 versus 2.21 +/- 0.13 respectively, P = 0.012) and this was not restored to normal concentrations with treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Our study indicated that cc treatment significantly decreased the endometrial thickness and increased oestradiol and progesterone concentrations. However, secretion of alpha (v,) beta (1) and alpha (3) integrin molecules, which might play a role in implantation, was not affected.
