Abstract
A large number of existing concrete infrastructures worldwide, including previously repaired ones, suffers from deterioration or distress under combined mechanical and environmental loading conditions and requires millions of dollars to renovate them. Sustainable economical repair material that will provide longevity with minimal maintenance is needed. Despite the best efforts of the repair industry, the failure rate for concrete repairs remains unacceptably high. The research program proposed in this paper is uniquely positioned to make significant advances in the field of sustainable repair materials for infrastructures. The objective of this research is to develop environment-friendly, cost effective, 'crack-free' and durable concrete material for repairing existing infrastructures.
