Abstract
Internal migration is the spatial displacement of the population within the borders of the country. Nowadays, people are migrating to live in more comfortable environments and better conditions. The direction of migration is from the less developed regions to more developed regions for mostly economic reasons. The aim of this study is to examine factors affecting internal migration by using spatial econometric analysis. According to the results of the analysis, urbanization rate, central government budget expenditure, the number of the patent granted, per capita bank loans and the number of the faculty members have a positive effect on migration. © Peter Lang AG 2019.
