Abstract
A biostratigraphical study of platform conodonts recovered from the Ammonitico-rosso and associated deposits near Epidaure (Greece) revealed the presence of 15 species and one sub-species and allowed a more accurate determination of the ranges of the following species: Gondolella szaboi (KOVACS), G. eotrammeri (KRYSTYN), G. inclinata (KOVACS), Paragondolella polygnathiformis (BUDUROV and STEFANOV), P. tadpole (HAYASHI) and one sub-species, Gladigondolella malayensis malayensis (NOGAMI, emend. BUDUROV). The deposition of the carbonate banks of the Ammonitico-rosso began in the Late Anisian and continued until the Early Carnian. Conodonts recovered from ammonite-bearing levels overlying the Ammonitico-rosso suggest a Late Carnian age for these youngest exposed levels, although an Early Norian age cannot be ruled out. © 2002 E.
