    Dielectrical parameters and relaxation of Al/NFT/p-Si schottky diode with frequency dependence

    The fabricated Al/ Naphthalimide /p-Si Schottky diode's dielectrical parameters and series resistance effect have been investigated by using the DC and AC measurements. We have developed a facile interface structure that consisted of double-layer films in order to investigate the capacitance volume and series resistance effect through the device. The organic interlayer with little nanometer thickness between electrode and inorganic semiconductor drastically reduce the series resistance at the interface. The dielectric parameters have increased with decreasing frequency. Interestingly, the value of epsilon ' (approximate to 3) even at 1 kHz shows that the prepared naphthalimide (with Thiophene property) nano-interlayer can provide more charges or energy storage ability and so it can be used instead of traditional interfacial layers.

    Rate of Glove Perforation in Open Abdominal Surgery and the Associated Risk Factors

    Background: Glove perforation is common during surgery. Surgical gloves are used as personal protective equipment to reduce infection risks from bloodborne pathogens for both the surgical team and patients. This research was conducted to determine the perforation rates of gloves worn in open abdominal surgery performed in a general surgery department and the risk factors affecting perforation. Methods: This research was designed as an observational prospective cohort study including 70 open abdominal operations. There were four members of the surgical team (surgeon, first assistant, second assistant, and scrub nurse). A total of 280 (70 x 4) pairs of gloves in 70 consecutive open abdominal procedures were included in this study. A total of 140 unused gloves were tested as control group to assess perforations and pre-existing leaks. After the operation, all gloves were checked for water impermeability using the EN455-1 method and the presence or absence of a puncture hole was recorded. Results: Glove perforation was detected in 54.3% of operations. The rate of perforation in all gloves was 10.7%, of which 78% unnoticed by the surgical team during surgical procedure. It was determined that the puncture in the gloves was mostly on the non-dominant hand (left). For the left-hand glove, the highest number of holes was observed on the index finger (21.1%) and palm/dorsum of the hand (21.1%). The risk of glove perforation was 5.8 times greater for surgeons compared with the other team members, and operation time of 61 minutes or longer increased the risk of perforation by 12.77 times. Conclusions: Glove perforation rates are high in open abdominal surgery. The highest number of perforations occurred in the non-dominant hand (left) has a high rate of perforation in surgeons and long operations. It may be beneficial for surgical team members to change gloves at certain intervals during surgery or use indicator glove systems.

    PROXIMATE ANALYSIS AND FATTY ACID PROFILE OF SOME BROWN MACROALGAE COLLECTED FROM THE NORTHEASTERN MEDITERRANEAN COAST

    In current study, proximate compositions (ash, lipid and protein) and fatty acid profiles of 5 different brown macroalgae (Stypopodium schimperi, Halopteris scoparia, Cystoseira compressa, Padina pavonica, Sargassum vulgare) collected from Iskenderun Bay (Arsuz and Kale regions) in July 2019 were determined, The highest and lowest ash values were found in Halopteris scoparia (28 +/- 0.1%) and Cystoseira compressa (21 +/- 0,1%), respectively. The lowest and highest lipid amounts of brown algae tested in the study were found in Cystoseira cornpressa (2.00%) and Stypopodium schimperi (6.36%). respectively. While the highest protein content was determined in Halopteris scoparia (9.79 +/- 0.02%) and Cystoseira compressa (9.50 +/- 0.3%), the lowest protein content was obtained from Padilla pavonica (4.20 +/- 0.16%). The saturated(SFA) and monounsaturated (MUFA) fatty acid compositions of brown algae were 75.11-92.45 % and 4.44-23.1%, respectively. In conclusion. biochemical compositions and especially, the high levels of palmitic acid indicated that brown macroalgae can be considered as a potential resource in terms of obtaining biologically new products in the nutraceutical industry and food industry.

    The clinicopathological features and survival of Castleman disease: a multicenter Turkish study

    OBJECTIVE: In this study, we aimed to investigate the clinicopathological features and survival of CD, which is quite rare and has many unknowns. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This study was conducted by retrospectively evaluating patients diagnosed with CD in six different centers in Turkey. RESULTS: The median age of 33 patients included in the study was 49 and 51.5% (n = 17) of these patients were women. 18 (54.5%) patients were in the hyaline vascular subtype and most of the patients were UCD (n = 20, 60.6%). The most common involvement region was head and neck (n = 19, 57.5%). The UCD group was younger than the MCD group (p=0.027). Visceral lymph node involvement was higher in MCD than in UCD (p=0.001). Similarly, it was observed that there was more hepatomegaly (p=0.035) and splenomegaly (p=0.013) in the MCD group. During the median 19.5 months follow-up period, there were no patients who died. CONCLUSIONS: It was observed that UCD and MCD are different clinical entities. Promising survival times can be achieved with surgical and systemic treatments in both subtypes of this extremely rare disease. However, this re- suit should be supported by well-designed prospective comprehensive studies.

    Optimization of HIL-HTL-free naphthalimide: Isoquinoline TEOLEDs with BZO top electrode

    The present work focuses mainly on HIL/HTL-free TEOLEDs with furan-appended naphthalimide: isoquinoline (furan IQ) and morpholine-appended naphthalimide: isoquinoline (morpholine IQ), which were synthesized from the reaction between naphthalic anhydride and a substituent such as 2-furoic hydrazide or 4-aminomorpholine. Both of the emitters displayed aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) behavior. This new structure was constructed between modified indium tin oxide (ITO) with caesium fluoride (CsF) (5.18 eV) and boron-doped zinc oxide (BZO) (3.20 eV) with ideal work functions. The current densities were 400 mA.cm(-2) and 387 mA.cm(-2) and luminances were in the range of 9500 cd.m(-2) 9000 cd.m(-2) for the furan IQ and morpholine IQ emitters, respectively. We have introduced a new CsF-ITO/EML/LiF/BZO design with external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) of 9.50 % and 7.57%. We have achieved a standard deep violet/blue CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.06) and (0.16, 0.05) for furan IQ and morpholine IQ emitters with a high color stability.
