- BACKGROUND: To evaluate any mismatch between rod bending and actual lordosis during posterior lumbar instrumentation and its effects on the quality of life (QOL) of patients. - METHODS: Patient records for posterior lumbar fusion in 2018-2023 were retrospectively reviewed. The radiologic parameters consisted of pelvic incidence, sacral slope, L1S1 lumbar lordosis, lumbosacral angle, the distance between the posterior wall of the vertebra and the rod, lordosis of the rod. The postoperative QOL of patients was assessed using Oswestry Disability Index. The patients were grouped postoperative into Group-1 (minimal/moderate disability) and Group-2 (severe disability/crippled/bed - RESULTS: Total of 133 patients were included; 99 women, 34 men. The difference was significant for patients with diabetes to be presented in the more disabled Group2. The distance between the posterior vertebral wall and the rod was found to be short in Group-2. Preoperative and cantly higher in Group-2. The changing degree of pain was found to score high in Group-2. The postoperative visual analog scale was high in Group-2. The difference between the preoperative and postoperative lumbar sagittal Cobb and rod Cobb-angles was found to be high in Group-2. possible. To our knowledge, this is the first study that evaluated the effect of rod bending on quality of life (QOL) and supports that this might be affected in case of any mismatches.

-In this study, the design and analysis of multi-layer fully pitched winding switched reluctance motor (MFP-SRM) for general use (submersible pump, electric vehicles, etc.) have been performed. It is seen that the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) has higher output power when compared to the single-layer SRM. In multi-layer SRM, the motors in the layers are electromagnetically independent of each other although they are identically the same motors with the same characteristics in terms of performance and geometry. Each layer of the MFP-SRM which is designed in this study consists of a 6/4 pole fully pitched SRM (FP-SRM) and these motors are magnetically independent of each other. In the MFP-SRM, which is designed as a double layer, there is a 15 degrees phase difference between the rotor position angles and torque profile curves of each layer. With the phase difference that changes depending on the number of layers, each layer contributes to the total torque production of the profile, ensuring a smooth profile. According to the results of the 3D FEM analysis, it is seen that the proposed multi-layer motor structure has high starting torque and low torque ripple properties. In the analysis carried out in the range of 3-15 Amperes, the torque ripple of the traditional FP-SRM varies between 31.99% and 38.19%, while the torque ripple of the proposed MFP-SRM only varies between 3.23% and 7.11%.

1,5-Diphenyl-1H-pyrazole-3,4-(dicarboxylic acid-4-ethyl ester 2, obtained from the 4-ethoxycarbonyl-5phenyl-2,3-furandione 1 and N-benzylidene-N'-phenyl hydrazine, was converted via reactions of its acid chloride 3 with various alcohols or N-nucleophiles into the corresponding ester 5 or amide derivatives 6, respectively. In addition, 2 was decarboxylated to give ethyl 1,5-diphenylpyrazole-4-carboxylate 4. Nitrile 7 derivative of 2 was also obtained by dehydration of 6a in a mixture of SOCl2 and DMF. While cyclo condensation reaction of 2 with hydrazine hydrate leads to the formation of pyrazolo[3,4d]pyridazine-4,7-dione 8, the reaction of 3 with anhydrous hydrazine provided a new bis pyrazole derivative 9.
