The effect of flexible chain length of diacrylate monomers on the stabilization of blue phase liquid crystal has been studied in this study. The temperature range of the polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal was able to increase by altering the type of the monomer in the monomer precursors due to the difference in the flexibility of polymer backbones. Furthermore, the morphological study proved that the monomer flexibility plays a key role in the formation of the polymer network in a different size and morphology. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd.
