One of the leading causes of arteriovenous fistulae (AVF) is trauma on the vascular course and its vicinity. Untreated traumatic AVF may cause aneurysmal dilation of the involved artery and vein. Herein, we present the case of a patient in whom a progressive dilatation of both left femoral and iliac arteries and veins developed consequent to a post-traumatic femoral AVF 35 year after injury. The patient was surgically treated and a vertical incision was performed on common femoral artery identifying the fistula tract within it and it was closed using 5-0 polypropylene suture and the patient had an uneventful, complete recovery. © 2014, Anatol J Clin Investig.
